Problem

Easements protect pipelines from outside influences. The appropriate rights must be fixed and recorded in the correct form for the country (e.g. in Germany recorded in the land registry). The easement requires the landowner to comply with rules protecting the pipeline.

To control and patrol the pipeline, as well as carrying out maintenance work, the operator needs unhindered access at all times.

To ensure the safety of the pipeline, it is essential that right of way information is complete and up to date and that communication with landowners and occupiers is reliable.
