DMC 1 has begun software development activities for its’ WION solution. Based on confirmations of the intentions from the October workshop from operators including DOW, TOTAL, VOPAK, TAQA, LYONDELL; TEAM, ECCO. Initial testing of the base software components for support of the required functionality (functional modelling) is already complete.

The development is expected to be complete by mid 2009.

January 2009 - VOPAK Order

DMC 1 has received an order to deliver a new Pipeline Management System. The client is the internationally operating Vopak, specialising in the storage and transport of products from the oil and chemical industries.

Vopak will use the system in Rotterdam. This will include, as a first the use of a hosted system. The client has access to the system via terminal emulation software, as do service companies acting for the client. In this way, the client can have up to date results from their service partners as both are using the same live data. Using a hosted system, this can be achieved without expensive investment in communications infrastructure and without extensive demands on the client for management of the system.

October 2008 - Workshop WION/ KLIC Solution

DMC 1 presented two alternative solutions for the automatic processing of KLIC messages in a workshop on 08.10.2008 for the Dutch market. The background is that from the middle of 2009 changes in the law place new requirements on pipeline operators. These include requirements for online receipt and acknowledgement of messages and to process them according to a defined standard within a specified time. The participants approved the DMC1 proposals as suitable to provide a practical solution. For further information see the Newsletter.
